All of us face barriers in our lives that seek to stop us from making progress. Some barriers may be self- imposed while others may be erected by someone or something that desires to negate advancement. Barriers can come in all types of configurations, formations, and combinations. The objective of barriers is to halt progress. However, we see in our text that David is going up against a longtime foe to the Israelites. The Philistines have been a menacing force in the lives of Israel and have kept them back. But now we see that Israel's King David shows the people what's necessary to break through barriers. We see that David requests direction from God, recognizes the move of God in his life, and relies on the strength of God to get them through. So whatever barrier you may face in your life, whether financial, relational, emotional, or spiritual, rest assured that God can help you break through it.
