“God Shows up in Our Imperfections”

March 18, 2018 ()

Bible Text: Exodus 3: 1-12 |

All of us have characteristics and habits, whether good or bad that make each of us unique in our own way.  One of the beautiful things about community and human relationship is that we get first-hand experience in how unique and different we really are.  For instance, being in a relationship with someone whether it is dating, familial, marriage or just messing around we tend to get an idea of idiosyncrasies/imperfections that all of us have.  And very often it is our imperfections and idiosyncrasies that cause tension and strife that can leave us desiring to create distance between us. However, God does not respond to us in that same manner.

In spite of our imperfections, our idiosyncrasies, our quirks and character flaws God does not pull away from us but shows up in our imperfections.

We see in our text that no matter the failures, mistakes, and mishaps in Moses' life, God still shows up for Moses.  God meets with Moses; God has a message for Moses, and God has a mission for Moses.  It is reassuring to know that God actually shows up in our imperfections rather than forsaking us because of our faults and failures.
