Have you ever had a situation that left you disappointed, despondent, discouraged, and ready to give up? Have you ever had a life experience that caused you to say, "I'm done." Sometimes you and I experience moments of deep brokenness. Brokenness is a time of pain and sorrow. There are times when brokenness can have you feeling so damaged that you can't function properly, and just getting through the day is a struggle. But brokenness doesn't have to be the end. We can find that there's a blessing in the breaking we may be experiencing.
Here in this familiar passage, we find Jacob in a wrestling match that changes the rest of his life. There are experiences that can change the landscape of our lives. We find that during this encounter Jacob experiences great blessings through his breaking.
