Bible Text: Mark 1: 1-8 |

In celebration of Black History Month and such an energized focus on the pride people of color, black people, are displaying on the coattails of one of the big screen's biggest motion pictures, Black Panther.  It is quite heartwarming to witness such expressions of jubilation and exhilaration from a people who are very often overlooked and ostracized.  Because sometimes those who are on the margins may not be recognized, but often forgotten.

In our text, we find Mark giving us a snapshot of John the Baptist who was actually destined to make a way for Christ.  We find that there are a few characteristics necessary for living out our destiny as John did?  We have to embrace our past, our peculiarities, and our passion.
