Bible Text: Deuteronomy 26: 1-11 |

Series:

At the beginning of a new year, most if not all of us have something or some aspect of our lives that we would like to be different this year than it was last year.  For some, we want to experience something different in our relationships, for others, we may be looking for something different regarding the current state of our physical fitness.  While for others we may desperately need this year to be different financially than last year. However, in order to experience or open the door to something different we have to be willing to do something different.

This is what Moses is trying to help the Israelites understand when they enter the land God had promised them. They had to understand the keys necessary to open up new opportunities for them.  In order to open the door for something different God 's expectation was that they would bring a portion from all that God had given them in the beginning of their harvest season. This act of devotion led to a different kind of living for God's people.
