Luke writes about a conversation Jesus has with His disciples regarding praying consistently. Jesus emphasizes the importance of His followers exercising persistence in the midst of the realities of life.  It is a reality that we will encounter all kinds of issues, even injustice, in our society.  And there is a way we should respond.  As we celebrate Black History and pay homage to our ancestors we can continue the fight for justice that began in the lives of men and women like Nat Turner, Gabriel Prosser, Denmark Vesey, Harriet Tubman and others. Considering the current political climate we live in, it is imperative that we as a people remain vigilant and persistent in our service of God and His people.
